About the Law Society Diploma Centre
The Diploma Centre at the Law Society of Ireland has provided continuing professional legal education for over 20 years. Above all, their primary aim is to enhance the skills and career opportunities of their students. They achieve this due to the provision of an excellent and diverse range of postgraduate courses. Courses that utilise innovative technology for teaching and learning purposes. The diploma and certificate courses are suitable for solicitors, trainees and barristers. However, a number of the courses welcome other suitably qualified professionals.
Furthermore, the Centre offers the Diploma in Law annually. For the reason that this offers an opportunity to study the law in an engaging and flexible learning environment. This is an intensive post graduate diploma that can be taken over one or two years. The course is designed specifically for those who require an introduction to the discipline of law. Also, it uniquely integrates the academic theory with the practice of law across the eight core modules. The course is ideal for non-law graduates seeking to further their knowledge of law because it enables one to enhance their current role or those who wish to progress further with a career in law
New autumn 2018 programme
The recently launched autumn 2018 programme has something for everyone. It incorporates a wide variety of courses to choose from including five new courses, such as a Diploma in Advocacy Skills, Certificate in Immigration Law and Practice and Certificate in Agriculture and Food Law. All these courses are delivered by experienced and leading practitioners in an engaging and flexible learning environment.
The faculty are proud to have been awarded Service Provider to the Legal Profession at the 2018 Irish Law Awards for a third consecutive year. The award celebrated the Diploma Centre’s achievements during the year under review and focused on the quality of our service, extent of the delivery, client care and value for money.
