About NCI

National College of Ireland’s mission is to change lives through education. For the 6,000-strong student body, both undergrad and postgrad, full- and part-time, this mission is realised not just through internationally recognised qualifications delivered by expert faculty – all courses are accredited by Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) and many bring with them certification or exemptions from professional bodies – but also through a strongly supportive environment.

Located at the intersection of the IFSC and the Silicon Docks, with its own Luas stop: Mayor Square – NCI, the College has strong connections with the businesses surrounding it. With nearly 70 years’ experience of working with employers to identify skills gaps and delivering education and careers service to ambitious students, NCI has a 98% graduate employment rate.

Specialising in computing, psychology, accountancy, marketing, business, human resource management and learning and teaching, NCI makes its courses accessible through innovative and flexible delivery mechanisms, including apprenticeships, online and blended learning, and classes delivered in the evening and/or at the weekend. Recognition of Prior Experiential Learning (RPEL) may be used at NCI, to satisfy or partially bridge entry requirements when an applicant may not have the minimum academic qualification for a course, or to permit advanced entry or module exemptions.

At postgraduate level, NCI provides special purpose awards and professional courses, as well as postgraduate diplomas and masters in subjects ranging from well-established areas such as human resources management and the highly-prized MBA, to emerging specialisations such as cloud computing. Graduates of NCI can avail of discounts and scholarships to continue their studies in the college. In association with the 30% Club, NCI also presents a scholarship to address the under-representation of women in postgraduate STEM education.

NCI is a provider of Springboard+ courses. Springboard+ addresses growth areas where employers are finding it difficult to source appropriately qualified candidates. The Irish Government and the European Social Fund cover the cost of 100% of fees for jobseekers and 90% of fees for those in employment who are seeking to change career path or upskill in these areas. For those currently unemployed, there is a dedicated Career Bridge module to help you gain the most from your new qualification and get you back into the workforce. Higher Diplomas (level 8) are available in Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Software Development and Web Technologies, with Postgraduate Diplomas (level 9) on offer in Cybersecurity and Cloud Computing. These are all courses that lead to high employability in an expanding and progressive sector. Previous graduates now work with many high profile companies, including AON, Citi, EMC, Fenergo, IBM, Microsoft, PayPal and SAP.

Feedback from students at NCI particularly notes the smaller classroom sizes and the approachability of the lecturers, as well as commenting on the warm and welcoming atmosphere at the college.

Take your first step in your next career move by attending an open evening at NCI, directly meeting with lecturers to discover the right course for you, and getting answers to all your questions on admissions and Springboard+. www.ncirl.ie/Events
