Irish Hotels Federation Education Expo

The Education Expo is delighted to be joined by the Irish Hotels Federation (IHF) for our free event this September. Pop along to the RDS on Saturday 8th and chat with a representative now about your career in hospitality.

Irish Hotels Federation Background

Founded in 1937, the Irish Hotels Federation (IHF) is the national organisation of the hotel and guesthouse industry in Ireland. Mainly, the function of the Federation is to promote and defend the interests of its members. The IHF also represents almost 1,000 hotels and guesthouses nationwide, employing over 60,000 people. As a result, IHF is a key stakeholder in the Irish tourism sector.

Furthermore, IHF lobby against ongoing challenges facing the hotel and guesthouse sector. It’s paramount they push for the right business environment in order to support the sustained growth of Irish tourism. In the long run, it’s ongoing investment in tourism marketing and product development by the Government that’s critical; especially if Ireland is to maintain its visibility and compete internationally as an attractive destination for holidaymakers and business travelers alike.

Why Study Hospitality?

As one of our largest indigenous industries, tourism is vital to Ireland’s economic well-being. Fiscally speaking, it accounts for €8.75 billion in annual spending and represents 4% of Ireland’s GNP. As the global economy continues to improve, Ireland remains a go-to destination for tourists across the world. If you are considering training or upskilling in this area,  chat with a member of the Irish Hotels Federation about your future.
