Gael Linn

Founded in 1953 Gael Linn is a national organisation whose principal aim is to foster and promote the Irish language and its heritage as a living language and as an expression of identity at policy and at community level. Gael Linn operates on an all-island basis, with offices in Dublin and Armagh.
In 2014, Gael Linn was designated as one of six ‘lead organisation’ to be core-funded by ForasnaGaeilge.

 

Our range of functions in this regard include:

• Education and the teaching of Irish as a subject
• Adult education
• Creating opportunities &promotion of spoken Irish among students

 

Our direct work with young people and adults in promoting Irish is supported by professional expertise in the areas of finance and corporate governance, IT, HR, advocacy and fundraising.
